Books
the star picture
This page lists the books I have read that I would like to recommend to my readers.

Hard Sci-Fi, or Hard Science Fiction, is science fiction where the science remains important.  Reading hard science fiction often involves strange science tricks that you may never have heard of, or unexpected phenomena, but explained in a scientific way.

Soft Sci-Fi, or Soft Science Fiction, is science fiction where the science isn't necessarily so important.  Series like Star Trek(tm) or Star Wars(tm) would be here, if I liked them.  Most of Robert Heinlein's work belongs here.

Fantasy/Horror: I put these in the same section because I am kind of wierd.  I often can't tell the difference between fantasy and horror.  For example, almost all of Stephen King's works go in this category.

Fact/Propaganda: I put these two together, because for any disputed fact-type information, one man's truth is another man's propaganda.  By fact, I mean a statement of existence that is provably true or false.  All that it means is that you could test which it is.  This can include anything from politics to popular science to programming practice.

Classics are books that aren't really appropriate for any of the above categories, but which I still really like.  You'll note that there don't seem to be any yet.
