| A Review of The Compleat McAndrew by Charles Sheffield |

(Yes, I really did spell the title correctly. Look it up; it's an accepted spelling of the word.) This book is a collection of short stories involving Sheffield's character Arthur McAndrew (most of these stories were previously published elsewhere, but it's great to finally get ahold of all of them.) McAndrew is a serious genius, who frequently creates new theories of physics (a feat few people have ever been capable of). In these stories he gets into various adventures, but in each one a lot of real science is squeezed in. As with most compilations, there is the tendency to get lost between stories, but since these are all about the same guy that effect is reduced. I give this book a 7/10 |
