Audiobooks

the grey star picture

I am considering reading audiobooks of popular public domain books and distributing them over the internet.  So far, I have read the introduction to The Island of Doctor Moreau, and post my reading below.  Mostly I am looking for criticism of my technique, both of reading and of making the audio file.  If I'm doing something horribly wrong, I'd rather find out now before I put too much work into it.  I intend to publish them in mp3 and ogg format.  If my bandwidth gets too large, I will publish via bit torrent (but for the moment, that doesn't look to be a problem).
000-Introduction.mp3 to The Island of Doctor Moreau in 128kbps mp3
000-Introduction.ogg to The Island of Doctor Moreau in quality level 5 ogg-vorbis
I still have the original wave file in case it becomes necessary to change the bitrates, etc.  As you can see at right, the files above can be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution, No Derivative Works license.  This means that you can make verbatim copies as long as you make sure that folks know they were created by Steven Rehn.  If I do put together the entire book, I intend to publish that under the same license at first.  If I get enough donations, I'll release it under a sharealike license too.  Please direct all comments/complaints/abuse to
srehnadmin@gmail.com.
