To web pages I like
and which you may find useful

News and Information:
Ars Technica  A computer-centric technology web site.  It tends to have good reviews.
Economist.com  Tends to have pretty insightful stories about things I care about.  Also, it's a  non US-centric news source.
Slashdot.org  The tagline says it all: news for nerds, stuff that matters.

Search:
Google.com  It's great, but you already knew that.

Games:
aatraders.com  Is the home base for the web-based game Alien Assault Traders.  You don't need to install anything to play; just use a web browser.  The game itself is open source if you are talented enough to install it.
www.ev-nova.net  It's an excellent page if you play Escape Velocity Nova.  Otherwise it's not very interesting.

Software:
sourceforge.net  This is a good repository, because it hosts a substantial fraction of the open source and free software programs available.  The user interface could take some getting used to, and the search sucks (unless you pay for it), but it's all here.  Really.
Open Clipart Library  This is an open-source licensed library of clipart, duh.  Great if you have open-sourcey uses for clipart.

Entertainment:
albinoblacksheep.com  Lots of funny stuff, especially flash animations.

Specific Articles:
Robotic Nation  It's by Marshall Brain, and it's more plausible than I guessed at first (though the economics are still screwy).
Bram Cohen's Weblog  You've got to read some of this stuff to believe just how often he comes up with amazing new ideas.
